BastionGPT Launches Microsoft-Certified Power Platform Connector, Bringing HIPAA-Compliant AI to Power Automate, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio

Healthcare organizations can now add HIPAA-compliant AI chat, document analysis, and medical transcription to Microsoft Power Automate flows, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio agents without writing code. The certified connector, published by Bastion Intelligence and listed in Microsoft's connector directory, runs under a Business Associate Agreement and never uses customer content to train AI models.

Dallas, TX, Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bastion Intelligence, the company behind BastionGPT, today announced the launch of its Microsoft-certified Power Platform connector, bringing HIPAA-compliant AI to Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio, and Azure Logic Apps. Listed in Microsoft’s connector directory and documented on Microsoft Learn, the connector lets healthcare teams add BastionGPT to the workflows and applications they already use.

A three-step Power Automate flow built with the BastionGPT connector: a new email arrives, BastionGPT summarizes and flags it, and the summary is emailed to the care team. The action picker shows the connector's five actions.

Healthcare organizations can use the connector to summarize referral packets arriving in SharePoint, transcribe session recordings saved to OneDrive for Business, and draft summaries of incoming patient messages for staff review. Teams can also give Copilot Studio agents access to BastionGPT for questions about uploaded policies and documents.

The connector addresses an important requirement in healthcare workflow automation: BAA coverage for the AI service processing patient information. Microsoft’s Business Associate Agreement covers in-scope Microsoft services, including Power Automate. Healthcare organizations must also establish appropriate BAA coverage for external services that process protected health information.

Every BastionGPT connector action calls the BastionGPT API under a BAA with Bastion Intelligence. Each request is automatically routed to the best fit among the latest GPT, Claude, and Gemini models, all covered by that same BAA. Users who prefer a particular model can also select one. Customer content, including prompts, documents, and audio recordings, is never used to train AI models.

Five AI actions for healthcare workflows

The connector provides five actions through Microsoft’s visual workflow tools:

• Ask a question: Send a question or request, with optional instructions and a document ID, and receive a plain-text answer.
• Create a chat completion: Send a multi-turn conversation, including a custom system message, to generate a response that incorporates the conversation’s context.
• Upload a document: Upload a PDF, supported image, or text file up to 10 MB and reference it in subsequent questions for 30 days.
• Submit audio for transcription: Send a recording for transcription with speaker labels and timestamps.
• Get a transcript: Retrieve the completed transcript as structured segments and full text.

For example, a Power Automate flow can upload a referral PDF from SharePoint, ask BastionGPT to extract the referring provider and requested service, and send the results to staff for review. Another flow can submit a recording for transcription, retrieve the completed transcript, and save it alongside the original file.

Availability and requirements

The BastionGPT connector is available in supported Microsoft commercial cloud regions worldwide. It is classified as a Premium connector for Power Automate, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio, and as a Standard connector for Azure Logic Apps. It is not available in Microsoft government or China cloud environments.

A BastionGPT API subscription and applicable Microsoft licensing are required. Connector usage is billed at the same rates as direct BastionGPT API requests.
